About Channing House.

Channing House has been a leading not-for-profit Life Care Community in Palo Alto since we welcomed our first residents in 1964. We’re located in a peaceful urban neighborhood known as “Professorville” for the many residents who work and teach at Stanford University, just a little over a mile away. We’re an easy three-block walk from the shops, restaurants and businesses of downtown Palo Alto.  

Our residents are fascinating people who form close friendships based on ideas, down-to-earth authenticity and mutual respect. The vibe here is light and active, and the feeling of community is palpable. Residents here also share a sense of confidence and security that comes from knowing they’ll always have access to a full continuum of top-quality healthcare.

Because Channing House is a not-for-profit provider of senior living and healthcare, you can live with confidence knowing that we exist solely to enrich and enhance the lives of our residents. Because we’re not accountable to investors or a corporate entity, we invest all our revenue directly back into the management of Channing House and the world-class services we provide.
