We take your safety and security seriously and respond immediately to any situation that needs attention.
Physical Premises Security
Channing House premises has security cameras located in the building and garage that are monitored by our 24-hour reception staff. Exterior doors are always locked, and residents come in by buzzing the doorbell and being admitted by the receptionist. Security staff is on duty from 11pm to 7am to provide a feeling of safety and security for our residents and their families.
If an emergency arises, residents notify the 24-hour nursing station. A nurse evaluates the situation and calls 911 if needed. The nurse can also provide medical information to the Paramedic team, and will follow up with the resident and attending physician in the event of a hospitalization or to help with a treatment plan.
You have access to emergency assistance 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Every Channing House resident receives an emergency pendant that uses in-house wireless technology to locate you anywhere in the building, and provide immediate assistance in case of emergency. Our nursing staff will assess and provide the appropriate care, and contact your family for you, if needed.
Safety is a prime concern, and each apartment provides safety grab bars in either the large walk-in showers or bath tubs. You also receive a personal emergency pendant that works within Channing House to notify staff of your location in an emergency. Nursing staff is available 24 hours a day.
